It’s Friday and there are signs of spring all over. I love seeing the daffodils and flowering trees popping up all over Kansas City. Tomorrow is the first day of Spring Break for my kids here in Olathe. It will be nice to have a break from school for 10 days then it is count down for summer. Yikes!
I am currently booking summer and fall family and baby sessions. Be sure to book early! You can see all the booking info here onb my blog, just click on the pricing tab above.
Sharing this beautiful baby boy’s newborn session from last Summer. He was so good for me and so was his big brother. 🙂

I can not believe summer is almost over and that the kids go back to school next week. Summer went by way too fast, as it usually does. We had a fun and busy summer with several visitors from out of town and a couple trips. The kids spent a lot of time playing with the neighbor kids too. So glad they have meet friends close by in our new neighborhood. We added a new family member to the house this summer, Izzy the hedgehog. My daughter got her for her 10th birthday, she is pretty cute. 🙂 I think it will be hard to send them off next week for the first day of school. I have enjoyed having them home, but it is always nice to get back to a schedule.
Fall is almost here and my schedule is about full already. I only have a few spots left for November. I am currently booking November into 2017. Be sure to get on my calendar early!
Now sharing a session from a couple years ago for this cutie’s 3rd birthday along with some family shots. I love getting to watch families grow over the years.
I hope everyone enjoyed that beautiful weather we had over the weekend!! Saturday was gorgeous!! I had a session earlier on Saturday and we decided to get a few shots outside my studio since it was so nice. That is the first time I have done that since we have moved, it was fun. 🙂 My plan is to build some gardens starting this spring. I am sure I will not get as much done as I want this first spring, but will build onto it as I can during the planting seasons. I love gardening and now I will be able to join my love of photography and gardening together. I will plan my gardens to make them great backdrops for baby and Newborn photography sessions. Seriously excited, he he. For those who follow me on Pinterest you can see all my garden pins.
After my session I took the kids on a walk with some new neighbor friends to a couple creek spots the kids enjoy on the trails. My daughter can look for fossils all day. Then back to our house for trampoline fun. I think they were jumping till it got dark. Loves days like that!
Now about this gorgeous baby girl’s blog share. This is from last spring for little Ava’s sitting up session with Swade Sprouts. This is their 2nd baby girl that I have photographed through out her first year and now they are expecting baby #3 this June. I can’t wait to find out if it is a boy or girl. We got off to a rough start to our session that day, lol. Literally the first shot I was getting with the two sisters Ava fell and scraped her face on those spiky ball things that fall from trees. Luckily she was ok besides some scratches and we moved on. It took some extra editing on my end, but when you have a whole family ready for photos on a nice evening you do what ever you can to get it done! I think they turned out pretty darling!!
Speaking of outdoor family and baby photography sessions, now is the time to get them scheduled!! My May is already full so I am taking on outdoor session bookings for June-October. I have one more opening for a newborn in March and a few openings in April for any studio sessions. I am taking on less sessions per month at the moment due to some schedule changes so book early. Thanks!

Hello!! I am back to work today after a long 5 day weekend with my family. My family took a last minute trip to Branson and Eureka Springs. We took advantage of the kids being off school and the hotel points that my husband had saved up. We have never taken the kids down there before, they had a lot of fun! I use to live in the Branson area, went to Branson high school for a short time then Forsyth high school and worked at a couple businesses in Branson. It has grown a lot since then! We checked out Top of the Rock , took the nature/cave tour and had lunch. It was so beautiful there, chilly but beautiful!! We also spent a day walking around Eureka Springs. It is such a cute town with so many talented artist. The kids found some fun little treasures and we enjoyed a yummy early dinner at Fresh before driving back to Branson. We finished off the long weekend with a double playdate at home and then skating at skate city. 🙂 It was exhausting but I’m so happy we got in some family time! Thanks to the clients (and my kid’s teachers) who were flexible and let me move some sessions (and conferences) around to get this trip in, thank you thank you!!
I have a busy week here with shoots and editing. I am about to head to the studio to get it cleaned up and set up for a newborn baby boy who is coming in the morning. Can’t wait to meet little Benjamin.
Tonight I am sharing a maternity session from earlier this year. I loved this session, such an adorable couple! This was all shot down in the West Bottoms of Kansas City. It is fun to use the different structures, textures and colors down there as backdrops. I will have the share the newborn session soon too.
As always feel free to Pin, like, share and leave some love in comments. Thanks!!
I love your flowers and yard..Pretty!!
