I want to share a full outdoor session that took place last fall. During this session, the warm golden sunshine was setting at the perfect moment at the park. There are so many ways to capture the love between a family…..a cherished embrace, a little laughter, a stroll through the green grass and sweet kisses.

We were able to get so many special moments during this outdoor shoot. I really love the affectionate look between the parents, the kisses on daddy’s cheeks, and the laughter and joy that you can feel throughout each image.

This session had such a luminous feel to it, I  wanted to show you some of the options for your family. So many unique spaces are found outside…near a reflective pond, under amazing fall foliage or within tall wildflowers. You never know what we might find!

With warmer months ahead, outdoor sessions are coming up soon. Please let me know if you’re interested in an outdoor session, and I would be happy to talk with you about all your options.

Hello friends! So glad that warmer weather is finally upon us. It’s been  great to get outside and enjoy it.  As you start to think about the year ahead, please think of me! I’d love to photograph your newborn, baby, children and/or family as they grow and change. And doesn’t it seem like they grow so fast?

As you will see from this recent photo shoot, I had so many adorable images of this newborn to choose from. He had the most amazing sweet face!  The first image of him in the yellow metal basket propped up on the soft white layers is one of my favorites! We used various pastels including yellow, blue, turquoise, coral and grey throughout the shoot. It was a nice color combination.

He slept so well and was easy to maneuver around, which definitely allowed for more poses and options. Love those good sleepers! But when he finally did open his eyes….so precious. His big brother seemed proud to be next to him and gave me such a genuine smile. Love it when siblings show their tenderness for each other.

Good morning! Thank you for all the new Instagram followers!! I posted my Instagram page (link above) on Facebook last night and had a lot of clients start following me, which I love. 🙂

This morning I am sharing a maternity session that I did almost a year ago for this gorgeous couple. I love maternity sessions. I get to meet the parents before their baby arrives and get to know them better. Plus I love the cute bellies, lol, and getting to document that precious time before their lives change.  All parents know how much life changes after you have a child. People tell you it will happen, but it is hard to understand until it does. The love, the laughs, the tears and the struggles. It is the best and hardest thing ever being a parent.

I trust everyone has enjoyed the beautiful warmer weather in Kansas City the past couple of days. It was such a nice treat in the middle of February! I want to share a recent newborn photo shoot that had so many great, simple moments that it was hard for me to decide what to show you all today.

You never know how many poses and outfit changes you’ll be able to achieve with a newborn, but this little guy slept great for me! I used many different woven hats, neutral colors and soft textures. The colors utilized throughout were tans, creams, and grays with the addition of blue and a rusty orange color you’ll see in a couple images.

I mentioned in the title that he was “wide-eyed” and you’ll see later in the post that he opened his beautiful eyes during one of our moments together. That doesn’t always happen, but when it does….. it’s so special. Sometimes the most simple moments during a photo shoot can be the most memorable.

I know the ground is frozen and snow covered but spring will be here before we know it! I have posted spring through fall  mini sessions  and also have full session info posted. Be sure to book in advance if you are wanting a session this spring or summer! I have also added back in Swade Sprouts the baby plan, yay! I have had so many people asking about this over the past year. I had stopped offering it for a while but am excited to have it available again. 🙂

Also I will be making some changes next week to some of my pricing and collections. Once your session is booked your pricing is locked in. Same for the baby plan, once the baby plan is booked you keep the pricing you had at booking.

Today I am sharing a session from this past summer that I love! This beautiful baby girl is such a doll, as you can clearly see. I can not wait to be able to start shooting outside again. I love these warm summer evening sessions. The bubble bath is usually a hit with the little ones and is incredibly cute!

This was a full session for a Swade Sprouts baby planner.
